China's container volume through ports expected to fall 7pc this year

ANNUAL container throughput at the Chinese ports is expected to fall seven per cent to 120 million TEU by the end of this year, Ministry of Transport spokesman He Jianzhong told a press conference.

Mr He also predicted that overall tonnage will likely increase four per cent, to 6.5 billion tonnes.
